Jost B. Jonas, MD is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and clinical scientist and is Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology of the Medical Faculty Mannheim of the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg/Germany.

He has research interests in the intravitreal application of medication as treatment of intraocular edematous, proliferative and neovascular diseases; the intravitreal cell-based (drug) therapy; the homologous intravitreal bonemarrow transplantation; the retinal microglial cell system; the contact lens-associated ophthalmodynamometry for measurement of the retinal arterial and venous blood pressure and cerebrospinal fluid pressure; the morphologic diagnosis of optic nerve diseases including the glaucomas; the association between the cerebrospinal fluid pressure and ocular disorders; population-based studies (Beijing Eye Study 2001, 2006, 2011; Beijing Public Health Care Study; Beijing Pediatric Eye Study; Beijing Children Eye Study; Beijing High-School Students Study; Shandong Children Eye Study; Gobi Desert Children Eye Study; Asymptomatic Polyvascular Abnormalities in Community (APAC) Study; Kailuan Study; Ningxia High Myopia Study; Central India Eye and Medical Study; Central India Children Eye Study; Ufa Eye and Medical Study); and in the process of emmetropization and myopization.

Fernando Faria Correia, MD, PhD, FEBOS-CR is Residency of Ophthalmology at Hospital S. João (Porto) in 2008-2012 and specialist in Ophthalmology in April 2013.

He has a fellowship in Refractive Surgery and Cornea in Instituto de Olhos Renato Ambrósio/VisareRIO in 2012, under the supervision of Renato Ambrósio Jr. MD, PhD and fellowship in Cataract and Refractive Surgery at medical university of South Carolina in 2012, under the supervision of George O. Waring IV, MD, FACS. In October 2017, he applied for PhD degree at School of Medicine, University of Minho, and he was approved with the higher degree (honours and distinction). The PhD’s thesis was entitled “Role of the Scheimpflug-based lens densitometry in preoperative assessment of age-related nuclear cataracts”. Fellow degree of the European Board of Ophthalmology – Specialist Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery (FEBOS-CR) in September 2018, by the European Board of Ophthalmology (EBO) and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS). Researcher at Rio de Janeiro Corneal Tomography and Biomechanics Study Group and BrAIN (Brazilian Study Group of Artificial Intelligence and Corneal.
